It hasn’t been very long since you were encouraged to attack projects that you typically avoid. I hope that the ‘debut’ Blog encouraged you and that you found it rewarding to “finish” the project(s) that you decided to tackle.
As Reverend Wright shared in her September 14, 2020 “Help and Hope for Uncertain Times” email, for more than half of 2020 we have been affected by COVID-19 in addition to experiencing some of the most devastating acts of racial and social injustice of modern times. My initial reaction to the recent events resulting from the November 3rd elections had me shaking my head and asking the Lord some serious questions on my heart. And for the past few months we are witnessing and/or experiencing unique weather-related challenges that have affected daily living and life for different areas of the country; especially the out of control fires on the West Coast and the unprecedented hurricane season. Unfortunately, it continues to be a time of great distress, loss and grief, pain and suffering, and mental and emotional strain. But God is still God and Jesus is still Lord! One of my favorite Scripture verses is Proverbs 3:5-6, and I have been continually encouraging myself to trust in the Lord and avoid leaning to my own understanding. It is so encouraging to know that God’s Word is the Truth that will never change. If you have been perplexed by all of what’s happening in the world these days, then I want to encourage you to trust God, no matter what. I am blessed to have a born-again, Spirit-filled electrician who spends quality time with the Lord every morning. And as the Holy Spirit puts things on his heart for the day, he shares it with a select group of people and I happen to be one. On September 18 my electrician was led to Habakkuk Chapter 1; where Habakkuk was crying out to the Lord and asked, How long, Lord, must I call for help, but You do not listen? In his words of encouragement, my electrician assured us that God hears our burdens and knows our needs. In time, He helps us to "see" and "receive" the answer. His closing words were that we simply must trust God! TRUST that God is Totally Reliable Under Stressful Times. My sisters, I encourage you to do just that. Whatever is going on around you or within you, never stop trusting the Lord. Always remember that anything the Lord “allows” to happen will work together for good (Romans 8:28). Be blessed.
