Practical Tools for Uncertain Times
The mission of The Institute for Women™ is to embrace, encourage, and empower females to become women who are fit to represent the King of kings. During these challenging times, many women are perplexed and probably fearful of what is taking place in the world today: a worldwide health crisis due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, social unrest and protests in response to racial inequality and injustice, massive unemployment; just to name a few. As a result, many are experiencing anxiety and fear about how to handle and respond to the current turmoil and what will happen next.
The Institute for Women™ is here to help you navigate whatever is going on around you by encouraging you to be at peace and not allow the external confusion to get on the inside. You can be at peace and rest in the knowledge that you are not alone in what you are experiencing on a day-to-day basis. We are here to embrace you at whatever state in life you are at present, to encourage you to know that tomorrow can be better, and to empower you with the necessary tools to get through this day and be ready to face a new day ahead. Motherwit from Osedella’s Daughter is one of those tools.
About Motherwit from Osedella’s Daughter
As a woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, I have had the blessed privilege of learning and maturing through many things. Life has afforded me the opportunity to have experienced ups and downs, joys and sorrows, and times of uncertainty where I was unable to determine whether I should laugh or cry. In all, I have grown to understand Proverbs 16:31 which says, “the hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.” This verse means that gray hair, which is an indication of age and maturity, is a blessing from God because it is a token of great experiences and prudence when it is found on the head of one who has lived in righteousness.
While my hair truly reflects my age, it is also an indication of how God has blessed me as I have endeavored to live as a Christian. It is this blessed state of living that has afforded me the ability to share what I have learned from an unchanging God. What I have learned is Motherwit!
I am sure you are wondering what on earth is Motherwit; therefore, let me begin by answering that thought. In addition to being a parent, a “mother” is a woman in authority and mothers are known to possess a maternal tenderness or affection. Mothers are also known to be wise women.
There are several definitions for the word “wit”; such as to know, to come to know, to learn, mind, memory, reasoning power, sense, sanity, mental capability, and resourcefulness.
From the perspective of Osedella’s Daughter, Motherwit is what is imparted by a wise woman who knows and who expresses a maternal tenderness and affection, while dispensing wisdom to help others to come to know and learn.
The intent of Motherwit from Osedella’s Daughter is to impart wisdom I have received as a mother and a mature woman over the years. My purpose is to encourage you to value yourself and become the woman of God you were created to be. I hope to do this by sharing practical tips on developing personal behavior so that you can glorify the Lord in every aspect of your life. I want to be a blessing to you as I have been blessed.
In response to your questions and desire for wisdom in life choices, I hope to encourage and inspire you to allow the beauty and graciousness of womanhood to cause you to grow in wisdom and favor with the Lord. You do not have to be of a certain age to be a wise woman. As Proverbs 16:31 states, when we live in righteousness, the Lord blesses us with great experiences and prudence – we become wise women.
Kindly submit your questions, comments, or areas where you desire to learn and grow in wisdom using the form below. I will do my best to share wisdom based on God’s Word!
We look forward to hearing from you!
